About the Key & BPM Detector

The Key & BPM Detector gives you everything needed to mix a track in one pass: tempo to 0.1 BPM, musical key, Camelot and Open Key codes, the ±6% tempo range you can mix without audible pitch change, and a table of compatible keys.

Audible beat clicks and a tonic-chord button let you verify both results by ear.

How the Key & BPM Detector works

Tempo uses onset-envelope autocorrelation with comb refinement; key uses tuning-corrected chroma matched against Krumhansl–Schmuckler profiles. The compatibility table follows Camelot rules: same key, relative (A↔B), ±1 on the wheel (a perfect fifth), and ±2 for an energy boost or drop.
