The same silence-detection engine as Remove Silence from Audio, pre-set with thresholds tuned for typical podcast pacing — a bit more tolerant of natural speech pauses.
The Podcast Silence Remover tightens spoken-word audio by shortening long pauses — dead air, long thinking gaps, awkward silences — to a natural length. Episodes come out shorter and snappier without sounding rushed.
It reports the time saved, marks every detected pause on the waveform before you apply anything, and keeps a natural pause (default 0.4 s) rather than deleting silence entirely.
Pauses are found with the 10 ms RMS detector with 3 dB hysteresis; any longer than your minimum is shortened to your ‘natural pause’ length, split half before and half after the cut, and joined with a 6 ms equal-power crossfade, so room tone continues smoothly.

Typical interviews lose 5–15%.
Short breaths are below the minimum length and are left alone.
Podcast speech has more natural pausing than most content, so this starts with a slightly longer minimum-gap and less sensitive threshold to avoid choppy-sounding cuts — adjust either slider if it's too aggressive or not aggressive enough.
