How to use Summary Exporter

  1. Start by providing the required input: Drop a CSV or JSON file. Use Load Sample to try example data first.
  2. No additional settings need to be configured.
  3. This tool has no separate run button; its results update as you add or change the input.
  4. Review the results, then choose an output control: Export as Text, Export as Markdown.

Getting the gist of an unfamiliar dataset fast

Opening a CSV or JSON file you've never seen before — a one-off export, a dataset someone sent you — usually means scrolling around to understand its shape before you can do anything useful with it. An automatic summary (row count, every column name, and numeric highlights) gets you oriented in seconds.

Why this works on both CSV and JSON

Data arrives in whichever format the source system happened to export, and switching tools based on file type is friction nobody needs — this reads either format and produces the same kind of summary regardless.

What counts as a "numeric highlight"?

Any column where every non-empty value parses as a number gets its min, max, and average calculated and included in the summary automatically.

Does this work on deeply nested JSON?

It's built for flat or near-flat JSON (an array of objects with simple key-value fields) — deeply nested structures won't summarize meaningfully.

Can I export the summary itself?

Yes — as plain text or Markdown, ready to paste into documentation or share with a teammate.
