Bulk File Renamer
Rename a whole batch of files at once using find-and-replace, regex, sequential numbering, or case rules — preview every result before downloading.
How to use Bulk File Renamer
- Start by providing the required input: Drop files to rename.
- Set the inputs and options shown here: Find, Replace with, Pattern (regex), Base name, Start at, Digits (padding).
- Run the tool with Preview Rename.
- Review the results, then choose an output control: Download Renamed Files.
Renaming dozens of files without a desktop app
Camera exports, scanned documents, and downloaded datasets routinely come with unhelpful filenames like IMG_4821.jpg or export (3).csv. Fixing that one file at a time doesn't scale; find-and-replace, regex, sequential numbering, and case conversion applied to a whole batch at once gets you consistent names in one pass.
Catching naming collisions before they happen
The preview table flags it immediately if two files would end up with the same new name — a common silent failure mode in batch renaming tools that don't check for it — so you can adjust your pattern before any file is actually renamed.
What happens to file extensions?
They're preserved automatically in every mode — your rename pattern only affects the filename itself, never the .jpg, .csv, .pdf, etc.
Does sequential numbering follow a specific order?
Yes — the order you added or selected the files in, which is usually alphabetical or upload order depending on your browser.
Can I undo a rename after downloading?
The renamed files are a new download, not a modification of your originals, so your original files are always still there if something needs adjusting.
