Set a baseline once — this tool remembers it in your browser. Come back anytime, re-upload the same files, and instantly see what changed.

How to use Change Tracker

  1. Start by providing the required input: Drop the files to track or re-check.
  2. No additional settings need to be configured.
  3. Run the tool with Set as New Baseline.
  4. Review the results, then choose an output control: Check Against Baseline.

Checking "did anything change" without keeping snapshot files yourself

Comparing a folder against an earlier version usually means remembering to save a snapshot file somewhere and not losing it. This tool remembers the baseline for you, right in your browser, so checking for changes later is just re-adding the same files and clicking a button — no snapshot file to manage.

How the baseline persists between visits

Once you set a baseline, its file hashes are saved in this browser's local storage. Coming back days or weeks later and re-checking the same files against it works exactly the same as if you'd just set it, as long as you're using the same browser and device.

Where is my baseline actually stored?

In this browser's local storage, on this device only — it isn't uploaded anywhere and won't be available if you switch browsers or computers.

What counts as "Modified" versus "Added"?

A file is Modified if its name matches the baseline but its content hash differs; it's Added if its name doesn't appear in the baseline at all.

Can I track more than one baseline at a time?

Not simultaneously — setting a new baseline replaces the previous one. For comparing two specific saved snapshots side by side, use the Audit Trail Generator instead.
