Folder Sync Preview
See exactly what a one-way sync from your source folder to your destination would do — what gets copied, what gets overwritten, and what's left behind — before you actually sync anything.
How to use Folder Sync Preview
- Start by providing the required input: Select Source Folder; Select Destination Folder.
- Set the inputs and options shown here: Source (sync FROM), Destination (sync TO).
- Run the tool with Preview Sync.
- Review the results, then choose an output control: Export Sync Plan (CSV).
Knowing what a sync will do before you run it
Running a real folder sync tool blind — not knowing in advance what will be overwritten — is how people lose work. Previewing the exact plan first (what gets copied, what gets overwritten, what's left behind) turns a sync from a leap of faith into a reviewed, deliberate action.
Why extras in the destination are never deleted
A one-way sync, by definition, only pushes from source to destination — it never deletes files that exist only in the destination. Those are flagged separately so you can review and remove them yourself if that's actually what you want.
Does this tool actually perform the sync?
No — it only previews what a sync would do. Running the real sync (copying files, overwriting changed ones) is a separate step you'd do with your own sync tool afterward, informed by this preview.
What does "Overwrite" mean in the plan?
A file exists at the same path in both source and destination, but its content hash differs — syncing would replace the destination version with the source version.
Can I export the sync plan?
Yes — download it as a CSV to review offline, share with a teammate, or use as a checklist while performing the sync manually.
