Multi-Folder Search
Add several separate folders and search across all of them at once — results are grouped by which folder they came from.
How to use Multi-Folder Search
- Start by providing the required input: Add a folder to the search set.
- No additional settings need to be configured.
- This tool has no separate run button; its results update as you add or change the input.
- Review the result or preview on the page and confirm it matches your input before using or sharing it.
Finding a file when you're not sure which project it's in
"I know I have that file somewhere, just not which of these six project folders" is a common and genuinely annoying search problem that a single-folder search can't solve. Adding several folders to one search set and searching across all of them at once answers it directly, with results grouped by which folder matched.
Building up a search set over a session
Folders stay added for the rest of your session, so you can keep searching the same set repeatedly — useful when you're hunting for several different things across the same group of project folders.
Does this search file content too, or just names?
Filenames only — for content search within a single folder, use Folder Search instead.
Can I remove a folder from the search set?
Yes — each added folder has its own remove button, and the search re-runs automatically against the remaining set.
Is there a limit to how many folders I can add?
No fixed limit, though very large combined folder sets will naturally take longer to search through.
