How to use Version Reminder

  1. Use these example values as a starting point: e.g. WordPress core; 6.4.2.
  2. Set the inputs and options shown here: Name, Current version, Check every (days), Last checked.
  3. Run the tool with Add.
  4. Review the results, then choose an output control: Export CSV, Download Reminders (.ics).

"I'll remember to check for updates" never works

Dependencies, plugins, and self-hosted tools all drift out of date quietly because checking for a new version isn't anyone's job by default. Logging what you're tracking, how often it should be checked, and generating a real calendar reminder turns that into something that actually happens instead of a good intention.

Why a real .ics file instead of just a list

A downloadable .ics calendar file imports directly into Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar as one reminder event per tracked item — so the check shows up where you already look, rather than in a tool you have to remember to revisit.

What calendar apps support the .ics file?

Essentially all of them — Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, and most other calendar apps support importing standard .ics files.

How is "next due" calculated?

Last checked date plus your chosen cadence in days. Marking an item as checked today resets that countdown automatically.

Is my tracked list saved between visits?

Yes, in this browser's local storage — it will still be there the next time you open the page on the same device.
