Turning a vague goal into an estimable task list
"Launch a product" or "write a report" is a goal, not a plan — and estimating how long it'll take is nearly impossible until it's broken into concrete steps with their own time estimates. Starting from a preset breakdown (or building your own) turns a vague goal into something you can actually schedule.
Why total estimated hours matters even for rough plans
Seeing total estimated hours (and the rough work-day equivalent) converted automatically from your subtask list gives an immediate sanity check on scope — a "quick report" that adds up to 20 hours of subtasks clearly isn't quick, and it's better to know that upfront.
Can I edit a preset's subtasks?
Yes — load a preset, then remove or add subtasks freely to match your actual plan before exporting.
How is "work days" calculated?
Total estimated hours divided by 8 — a simple reference figure, not an account of real-world interruptions, meetings, or context-switching.
Can I export the breakdown as a checklist?
Yes — download it as a plain-text checklist with each subtask and its hour estimate included.
