Large File Finder
Rank every file by size and see exactly what percentage of total storage your biggest files represent — often a small number of files dominate.
How to use Large File Finder
- Start by providing the required input: Select a folder to analyze.
- No additional settings need to be configured.
- This tool has no separate run button; its results update as you add or change the input.
- Review the result or preview on the page and confirm it matches your input before using or sharing it.
The 80/20 rule applied to your own storage
It's a near-universal pattern that a small fraction of files account for most of a folder's total size — this tool finds exactly which files that is for you, ranking every file by size and showing the cumulative percentage of storage as you go down the list.
Reading the cumulative percentage column
Watching the cumulative percentage climb toward 80% tells you precisely how concentrated your storage usage is — sometimes it's the top 3 files, sometimes it takes the top 50, and that number alone tells you whether a cleanup effort should focus narrowly or broadly.
Why 80% specifically?
It's a reference to the Pareto principle (roughly 80% of effects come from 20% of causes), a useful rule of thumb rather than a strict rule — your actual distribution might concentrate faster or slower than that.
How is this different from Large File Detector?
That tool flags files crossing a size threshold you set; this one ranks all files by their proportional share of total storage, with no threshold needed.
Does this include subfolders?
Yes — selecting a folder includes every file within it and its subfolders in the ranking.
