Getting a real sense of how stale a folder is
"This archive folder is old" is a feeling, not a fact, until you actually see the age distribution — how much is genuinely ancient versus how much was touched recently. A histogram across age buckets turns that impression into a concrete, at-a-glance picture.
Why buckets instead of a single average age
A single average age can be misleading when a folder has a mix of very old and very recent files — the buckets show the actual shape of that distribution instead of flattening it into one number that might not describe any real file in the folder.
What date does this use — created or modified?
Last-modified date, which is the only reliable timestamp browsers expose through the File API; creation date isn't consistently available.
Can I export the oldest-files list?
The on-page table shows the 10 oldest files directly; for a full exportable breakdown, pair this with File Size Analyzer or File Type Breakdown depending on what else you need.
Does this work on a selected set of files, or only a whole folder?
It's built around whole-folder selection so the age distribution reflects everything inside, including subfolders.
