Ownership Report Generator
Turn a file manifest with an owner column into a polished, narrative report document — ready to paste into an email or share with stakeholders.
How to use Ownership Report Generator
- Start by providing the required input: Drop a CSV with name, size, and owner columns. Use Load Sample to try example data first.
- No additional settings need to be configured.
- This tool has no separate run button; its results update as you add or change the input.
- Review the results, then choose an output control: Export as Text, Export as Markdown.
A narrative summary, not just a data table
A table of owners and byte counts is useful for analysis but awkward to hand to someone who just wants the gist. Generating a short written summary — "this dataset contains 240 files across 6 owners, the largest share belongs to..." — gives you something ready to paste directly into a status update or email.
Why prose plus a table, not just one or the other
The narrative gives the headline; the table underneath gives anyone who wants to dig further the exact numbers per owner — covering both the reader who wants thirty seconds and the one who wants the full breakdown.
How is this different from the Ownership Analyzer?
The Ownership Analyzer gives you a dashboard-style table view; this tool generates a written, narrative-style report document meant for sharing as a summary rather than analyzing interactively.
What columns does my CSV need?
An owner column at minimum; a size column improves the report with actual storage figures rather than just file counts.
Can I export this as a document?
Yes — as plain text or Markdown, both ready to paste into an email, wiki, or report.
