Fixing column order without cutting and pasting in a spreadsheet
A CSV export's column order rarely matches what a destination system or a report template expects — and manually cutting and pasting columns into the right order in a spreadsheet is slow and easy to get wrong on a wide file. Dragging columns into place here, with a live preview, is both faster and harder to mess up.
Why a live preview matters for reordering
Seeing a sample of the actual reordered data before downloading catches mistakes immediately — a column dragged to the wrong position is obvious in the preview table in a way it wouldn't be from a list of column names alone.
Does reordering affect the data itself?
No — only the column order changes; every value stays exactly as it was within its own column.
Can I drag a column to the very end?
Yes — drag it below the last item in the list, and it'll appear as the rightmost column in the output.
What if I have a lot of columns to reorder?
The drag-and-drop list works the same regardless of column count, though a very wide file will naturally take more scrolling to arrange.
