Make passport and ID photos at home

This free passport photo maker crops your picture to common passport, visa and ID sizes, such as 35×45 mm, 2×2 inch (51×51 mm), 50×70 mm and 33×48 mm, or any custom size in millimetres. Drag the photo to place your face in the frame, zoom and straighten it, and download a print-ready JPG or PNG saved at 300 DPI.

Then press Print sheet to get a full page, 4×6 inch, 5×7 inch or A4, with as many copies of your photo as fit, ready to print at a photo lab or at home. Optional cutting lines make it easy to trim the pictures to size.

Before you print. Passport offices have strict rules about head size, expression, glasses, lighting and background. This tool handles the size and layout, and you stay in charge of the photo itself. Take it against a plain light wall in even daylight, look straight at the camera, and keep the face and shoulders square. Check the official guidance for your country before you submit.

How it works

  1. Choose the size

Pick a standard passport or visa size, or type your own width and height in millimetres.

  2. Position your face

Drag the photo, zoom and straighten it. The guide shows the centre line and head area.

  3. Download

Save the single photo, or press Print sheet for a full page of copies.

Frequently asked questions

What size is a passport photo?

It depends on the country. 35×45 mm is used by the UK, most of Europe and many other places. The USA and India commonly use 2×2 inches (51×51 mm), and Canada uses 50×70 mm. Rules can change, so check the requirements of the office you are applying to.

Will my photo be accepted?

This tool cannot promise that. Acceptance depends on the photo itself, such as head position, lighting, expression and background, and on the rules of the office. Use the tool for the correct size and layout, and compare your photo with the official guidance.

Can it remove my background?

Not in this tool. It fills any uncovered area with the colour you choose. To replace the background behind you, first use the Background Remover or Auto White Background tool, then bring the result here.

What is the print sheet?

A single page, such as 4×6 inch, filled with copies of your photo and spaced for cutting. Print it at 100% scale (no "fit to page") so the photos keep their real size.

Why 300 DPI?

Photo labs and printers expect about 300 DPI for sharp prints. The file is saved with that value, and the number of pixels matches the physical size, for example 413×531 pixels for 35×45 mm.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, so your portrait and ID picture stay on your device.
