About this tool
Merging plays your clips back to back in the order you choose. Because clips from different phones or apps often have different sizes, frame rates and audio settings, this tool re-encodes them onto a common canvas: the size of your first clip, or 1080p, 720p or 480p. Clips with a different shape are fitted inside the frame with a blurred background, black bars, or cropped to fill.
Audio from each clip is joined in sequence. Video frame rate is set to match your clips so motion stays natural.

- Every clip must be readable by your browser's video decoder. Merging is a full re-encode, so it takes longer than a lossless cut and the total duration is limited by your device's memory.

Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs inside your browser tab using your own device's video hardware. Your file is never sent to ToolsCrow or anyone else, which also means there is no waiting for an upload and it keeps working if your connection drops after the page has loaded.
Is it really free? Is there a watermark?
It is free with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits. The only limits are the ones your device sets: memory and processing power.
How large a video can I use?
Because the video is processed on your device, the limit is your device's memory rather than a server quota. Phone clips of several hundred MB are fine on most devices, and desktop computers usually handle 1 to 2 GB. Files over about 4 GB are not supported.
Which browsers work best?
Current Chrome, Edge and Safari (16.4 or newer, including iPhone and iPad) work best because they include the WebCodecs video engine. Recent Firefox versions work for many files. Older browsers fall back to a much slower real-time mode or may not work at all.
Can I merge videos of different sizes?
Yes. The output takes the size of the first clip (or the size you pick) and every other clip is fitted inside it. Choose "Blurred background" for the nicest result with mixed orientations.
Will merging reduce quality?
Clips are re-encoded once at high quality with the bitrate matched to your sources, so the difference is rarely visible. If you only need to cut and rejoin pieces of a single video, the Video Trimmer's lossless mode avoids re-encoding.
