From a wall of text to something you can actually print
Instructions, runbooks, and SOPs often exist as a plain paragraph or a loose bullet list that's awkward to follow step by step. Converting that into a formatted checklist — with real checkboxes and optional category grouping — makes it something a person can print, follow in order, and physically tick off.
Grouping steps into sections
End any line with a colon to start a new category heading (for example "Before launch:"), and every line after it becomes a checklist item under that heading until the next category line.
Does this save my progress as I check items off?
No — this tool formats and exports a checklist document; it doesn't track completion over time. For that, use the Task Checklist tool instead.
Can I export to something other than plain text?
Yes — Markdown export is also available, which renders as a proper checklist in GitHub, Notion, and most Markdown viewers.
What if I don't use any category headings?
Every line is treated as a single flat checklist with no grouping — category headings are entirely optional.
