Secure Link Generator
Encrypt a message or small file and get back a shareable link that decrypts entirely in the recipient's browser — nothing is ever stored on a server.
Protection Method
How to use Secure Link Generator
- Choose Text Message to type a message, or choose Small File and add a file under roughly 300 KB.
- Select password protection and enter a password to share separately, or choose keyless mode if anyone with the full link may open the content.
- Select Generate Secure Link, then choose Copy. Send the password through a different channel from the link; links do not expire or revoke themselves.
How it works
- Your text or file is encrypted with AES-256-GCM in your browser.
- The ciphertext is packed into the link's fragment (after the
#) — the part of a URL that never reaches a server. - Whoever opens the link decrypts it locally, either by entering the password you shared, or automatically if you chose the keyless mode.
Share an encrypted message without storing it online
Use password mode when you can send the recipient the password separately from the link. The optional keyless mode is more convenient, but the decryption key travels with the link, so anyone with the complete link can read its contents. The text and small-file modes are intended for compact payloads; file data is embedded in the URL and oversized files will not fit.
A link can still be copied, forwarded, saved in browser history, or exposed through a recipient's device. Treat the link and password as sensitive, use a trusted communication channel, and avoid using this tool as a temporary-message service: links do not expire or revoke themselves.
Is the keyless mode actually secure?
It protects against the link being intercepted by a server (since nothing is stored), but anyone who gets the full link — including the fragment — can open it. Use the password mode for anything sensitive.
Why send the password through a separate channel?
If the link and password are delivered together, someone who obtains that message has both pieces needed to decrypt the content. Sending them separately reduces that single point of exposure.
Can I revoke or expire a generated link?
No. The encrypted payload is carried in the link itself and is not stored here, so this tool cannot revoke it or set an expiration time. Do not share a link if you need server-side access controls or revocation.
