About this tool
Phones and cameras quietly write extra information into every video file: GPS coordinates of where it was filmed, the make and model of the device, the exact date and time, and sometimes an author or comment field. None of that is visible when you watch the video, but anyone who inspects the file, or a platform that reads it automatically, can see it.
This tool rebuilds the video file from just its picture and sound, the way every other tool on this site already does, which is why the removal is thorough: there is nothing left to carry the old information over, because a fresh file is being written from scratch. The video's orientation is kept so it still displays right-side up, since that is not personal information. When the format allows it, the video and audio are copied without re-encoding, so this is fast and there is no quality loss.

Good to know
- This does not touch anything visible in the picture itself, such as a timestamp burned into the frame by a dashcam or security camera; use the Blur tool for that.
- A rebuilt file with a fresh internal timestamp is not a security measure against a determined attacker with the original file; it removes what a normal share would otherwise carry.

What exactly gets removed?

Does this affect video quality?
No. Whenever the file format allows it, the video and audio are copied exactly, only the surrounding file information is rebuilt from scratch.
